The Distributor Wire and Cable company recently moved into their new 153,000 square foot warehouse off of Diley Road. The company previously called Gahanna home and after a search decided to settle their expansion in Canal Winchester.
“The friendliness of Canal Winchester,” CEO Travis Williams said, “Ohio is business friendly, in general, and its interstates make travel easy.”
Travel is important because DWC supplies to the great lakes region. Williams shares that the company also prides itself on community involvement.
“This warehouse represents a partnership with the Canal Winchester community. From working with local contractors to collaborating with the Chamber of Commerce, we’re committed to being an active part of the community’s success. Our new facility strengthens Ohio’s role as a hub for innovation while anchoring us as a long-term partner in the community’s growth,” Williams said.
In the past, DWC has been a large supporter of Toys For Tots. They encourage all employees to donate a portion of their check to the cause, then plan teams to go shopping for the organization.
With the expansion of the business, the company will be increasing their workforce 200 percent.
“It reflects DWC’s commitment to building long-term community relationships, supporting job growth, and meeting the evolving needs of distributors across the Great Lakes region,” the company said in its press release.
State Representative Meredith Lawson Rowe attended the ribbon cutting ceremony on Aug. 20, and presented the company with a commendation letter outlining that the businesses will help drive the growth of Canal Winchester.
